SmartStep Hearing Brings Comprehensive Testing to You

Hearing testing doesn’t require a medical office. A relaxed, comfortable home environment doesn’t just offer privacy and convenience–it allows us to see where you spend your time and get a better understanding of your treatment requirements.

Our medical-grade testing equipment provides the opportunity to do on-site evaluations without being tethered to an office, and we see the difference in every patient, especially those who may be reluctant to travel for care or express discomfort in unfamiliar environments.

Specialized care, at your door – that’s the SmartStep way to better hearing care.

Benefits of an In-Home Hearing Exam

Whether you prefer the comfort of your own home, have mobility or transportation challenges, or simply want a familiar and stress-free setting, comprehensive hearing testing can make all the difference in protecting your long-term hearing health.

A professional hearing evaluation is about more than just “checking your ears.” It gives you a clear understanding of your hearing health today and helps you make informed decisions for the future.

A Hearing Test Can Help You:

  • Identify your level and type of hearing loss: Learn exactly how well you hear, and which frequencies are affected.
  • Understand how hearing loss impacts sound clarity: Find out if your hearing difficulties make conversations harder to follow in crowds or smaller group settings.
  • Evaluate your risk for balance issues and falls: Untreated hearing loss has been linked to an increased risk of falls. Testing can help you stay safer and more confident.
  • Determine if treatment with hearing aids is recommended: You’ll receive clear guidance on whether hearing aids or other treatment options can help. You may not need them just yet.

How an In-Home Hearing Exam Works

Prior to your appointment, our team will explain what to expect during the process. We will arrive at your home with the latest equipment and technology and follow all safety protocols.

Your provider will set up the device for your hearing test, which includes a set of noise-canceling headphones that you will wear as you listen to a series of sounds. You will press a button or raise your hand whenever you hear a sound.

A hearing test should not cause any pain or discomfort and is generally finished within a few minutes.
